New and Readmitted Students

Enroll now! If you enroll after May 29, 2008 for Summer Term , you will need to make your payment “upon” enrollment.  If you enroll on or after August 25, 2008 for Fall Term, you will need to make your payment “upon” enrollment.

1. Please select your courses using the using the appropriate Summer or Fall Schedule of class linked at the right.

2. Write down the class number of the course/section you wish to take on course request form. The class number is the first number on the far left of each course listing in the Schedule of Classes.

3. For on campus classes, use section 001, for distance students out of Dallas/Fort Worth, use section 401, for distance students in Dallas/Fort Worth (zip codes 75XXX 76XXX), use section 418, Active Duty Military students use section 498 (contact Janis Jessen, jjessen@engr.smu.edu for permission as an Active Duty Military student). NOTE:  Section numbers for Summer Term courses contain an extra “3” at the end.

4. Fax completed course request form to 214-768-3778

5. Payment Due Date is May 20, 2008 for Summer Term and August 21, 2008 for Fall Term. If enrolling after May 20 for Summer or August 21 for Fall, tuition payment is due upon enrollment. Make payment using the webpay link below as a “Guest”. If your payment is not received within this timeframe, you will be assessed a $150 late payment fee.

You will need your SMU ID number and tuition amount to make payment. If you don’t know your ID number, e-mail Janis Jessen at jjessen@engr.smu.edu. Make your payment at http://smu.edu/bursar/webpay.asp to pay, as a “Guest”.

NOTE: After your first semester, you will conduct your own enrollment on Access.SMU.edu. Enrollment procedures are found on our registration url: http://engr.smu.edu/students/graduate_enrollment.html which is updated each term under “Current Student Enrollment Instructions”.

Re-admitted students, who are graduating at the end of the term
Print, complete and fax the Application for Candidacy to Graduate to 214-768-3778. You need to do this at the beginning of the term. You must also complete a degree plan and fax to 214-768-3778.

New Students
You will be mailed a password to use the ACCESS.SMU.EDU on-line information system but initial enrollment will be performed by Janis Jessen. The password, combined with a student’s 8 digit ID number will allow you to log on to http://access.smu.edu to check your registration status, look up grades (grades are no longer mailed), change your address and phone number, register for class for future terms, and to check for any holds.
