Computer Discounts

The School of Engineering has developed a minimum standard desktop and notebook specification for engineering students. The companies listed below have agreed to support this standard and provide specially discounted prices to Southern Methodist University engineering students, faculty and staff. There is no affiliation between the School of Engineering and the listed vendors. All of the featured systems are small business class computers rather than home use machines. The business class computer is the most stable and least expensive kind of system to own over a 3-5 year period of time.

The specifications listed below will be updated periodically. Each company has made an effort to match their systems with these specifications. These specifications are not required by the School of Engineering but suggested minimum standards. There is a suggested minimum standard and a suggested upgrade listed for both desktop and laptop.
