Low Risk Method for Hiring New Employees

As co-op employer you get a "jump start" on identifying top engineering talent for your company. You will have the opportunity to shape the co-op student in to ideal employee by transferring knowledge and expertise, assigning duties and task comparable to the student's skill level and via course selection recommendations.

Cost Effective Project Support

Co-op students are a low cost alternative for valuable project support. In most companies students are considered part-time or contract workers and therefore benefits are optional. Students maintain their full-time student status while working with for your company affording them to access to their parents and the university's benefits.

Campus Ambassadors

The co-op student has the first hand knowledge and the exposure to your company's product and/or services and is likely to promote your company upon their return to campus. Many students serve as company representatives for career fairs, event sponsorship activities etc.

Year Round Access To Students

Co-op students are available for full-time work during the summer, fall and spring semesters. This provides your company with on-going project support year round. Many companies hire two co-op students to rotate the work of one full-time employee, (FTEI). See example.
