SMU Engineering Camp for Girls
Have fun and learn how engineers make our lives better!
Check out college and engineering one week this summer at the SMU Engineering Camp for Girls. The camp is designed for girls entering grades 8-12 in the fall of 2008 to explore engineering through hands-on, interactive projects and tours.
Gain hands-on, engineering experience through team projects
Learn about careers in engineering from female professionals
Learn about different types of engineering through tours
Explore SMU’s campus
Make new friends who share your interest in math, science and engineering!
Camp fee: $25
Financial assistance available upon request.
Location: School of Engineering on the main campus of SMU in Dallas, TX
Transportation: Within DFW – campus parking available or ride DART
Eligibility:
Grades 11 & 12: Must have completed or will complete Algebra II in 11th grade and must have completed at least 1 lab science.
Grade 8 must be entering Algebra I in the fall and have already completed one science course.
Grades 9 and 10 must have completed Algebra I and at least 1 lab science.

Qualified participants may earn a $1000 scholarship to attend college at SMU in the School of Engineering
KEY DATES AND DEADLINES Applications accepted beginning March 1, 2008
Application deadline extended to June 1, 2008
Final participation forms (Medical Release and Photo Release) and $25 camp fee due one week after applying.
Session Confirmation sent after participation forms and camp fee are received.
