The Technical Club of Dallas Student Awards

The Technical Club of Dallas recognizes the outstanding freshman and graduating engineering school students from Southern Methodist University, the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Texas at Dallas at a luncheon in April of each year. The awards at SMU have been given since 1932 and the awards at UTA and UTD were given for the first time in 1998.

Criteria

The awards are determined by the faculties of each engineering school based upon the criteria set forth by each school.

Freshmen

The freshmen awards are based upon demonstrated academic accomplishments as indicated by SAT/ACT scores and classroom performance as indicated by GPA.

Seniors

The awards for the outstanding seniors are based upon not only high academic performance but consideration is heavily weighted based upon technical papers, participations in student competitions, extracurricular activities, and leadership potential.
