The following is application information for current SMU School of Engineering
students:
The Industry Scholars Intern Program is designed for students who have high
leadership and scholarship qualities. Current SMU School of Engineering students
interested in applying for the program must meet the following criteria:
Minimum 3.50 GPA
Matriculated School of Engineering student
Special note: Students not matriculated may apply as first-year and sophomore
Industry Scholars and integrate into the program, as spots are available.
Transfer students must attend two full-time semesters before applying to the
program.
In addition, the selection committee will consider the following:
Extracurricular activities
Membership and leadership roles in engineering student organizations
(i.e. IEEE, ASME, SWE, NSBE, etc.)
Community service
Awards/honors
Faculty references
Engineering-focused internships, summer activities or employment
How to Apply
The application process for current SMU School of Engineering students
consists of the following:
Submit an official copy of your college transcript, your
resume and a reference letter to:
