This Engineering Leadership course examines planning, financial analysis, organizational structures, management of the corporation (including its products, services, and
people), transfer of ideas to the marketplace, ethics, and leadership skills.
Goals:
It is well known that many engineering and computer science graduates assume management roles in the very early stages of their careers. Usually they are thrust into these
positions because of their technical capabilities and they have little or no background or education in management. Being thrust into these positions they often learn by
trail and error. This course to specifically addresses the management topics of interest to technology managers. This course examines planning, financial analysis,
organizational structures, ethical management of the corporation as well as its products and people, transfer of ideas to the marketplace, and leadership skills.
