ENGINEERING ECONOMY

Catalog Description:

Evaluation of engineering alternatives by equivalent uniform annual cost, present worth, and rate-of-return analysis. Use of a computerized financial planning system.

Goals:

Evaluation of engineering alternatives by equivalent uniform annual cost, present worth, and rate of return analysis. Other topics include capital requirements, sources of capital, and operation and efficiency of modern production facilities. Use of a computerized financial planning system (MS Excel) is expected. This course is intended to improve financial decision-making capabilities by learning concepts and techniques of analysis useful in evaluating economic alternatives.
