Example: If the course number is EE 8370, you might want to request a folder
having URL http://engr.smu.edu/ee/8370. In general, you can request a webpage
with URL http://engr.smu.edu/dept_name/coursenumber/
We can set permissions on the directory for you and someone (TA) who will
help you to maintain your course website. Please provide the name and Engineering
login of the TA by emailing it to webmaster@engr.smu.edu
STEP 2:
Download and install winSCP software for uploading/downloading your files. Click
here to download the software. This software is an SCP client which manages
uploading/downloading files to and from your website.
STEP 3:
Log on to engineering school servers (apoc, neo, tank or others ), using the winSCP
software. Enter your username and password for authentication.

Example: Enter apoc.engr.smu.edu in the hostname
field. Log in using your Engineering username and unix password.
STEP 4:
Go to the specific directory of the course website. The home directory for the
course webpage would be /users/seasadm/webmastr/htdocs/dept_name/coursenumber/
Example: /users/seasadm/webmastr/htdocs/ee/8370/
Note: you can specify remote directory under environment and save the session for later use
STEP 5:
Select files to transfer and press F5(copy).
The home page for the webpage should be named as "index.html"
After following the above steps you can look at your webpage using the link
http://engr.smu.edu/dept_name/coursenumber/

For developing the webpages, you could use Microsoft FrontPage (click
here for tutorial), Macromedia Dreamweaver (click
here for tutorial) or any similar software. These software are available
at Computer Corner, Hughes Triggs Student Center
