More people take advantage of their disk quota every year. Present resources
can accommodate moderate growth in use and moderate growth in users simultaneously.
Deleting useless files in your directory and purging your Netscape cache can
expand your disk quota.

Print Quota
Print quota is renewed automatically at the beginning of each semester. A print
unit is equal to one page of laser printing. Additional print quota will take
24-48 hours to acquire. Requests need to be sent from an Engineering or SMU
account by the user and should follow the instructions sent by e-mail to the
Engineering email account when print quota falls below 200. Undergraduates are
not eligible to have quota renewed.

If you are an undergraduate your print quota has been deemed adequate for
your engineering course. If you use your print quota for other courses and deplete
it, you will be required to purchase more printer pages from the Engineering
Financial Office (Embrey Building) at $.05 per page.
If you are an Engineering graduate student and you need additional print quota to complete your engineering assignments, email to manager@engr.smu.edu with your name, your advisor's name, number of pages requested, your class standing, department, and any additional information regarding increasing your quota. Please try to estimate and request the amount you feel would be sufficient to finish the semester. Also include any other information you feel might be pertinent. You can check your print quota status on any School of Engineering unix machine with the command: pquota. Graduate students may request up to an additional 3000 pages per semester, and additional pages may be purchased from the Help Desk at $0.05 per page.
Computer Operations cannot support the printing of notes, chapters of books,
or other material due to the large volume and subsequent cost. If you are an
Engineering Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant or have some other special
status, your print quota will be reviewed with special consideration.
If you use your printer quota to print multiple copies, you will be required
to purchase additional Printer pages when you exhaust your quota. A high duplicate
print job ratio will influence the approval of addition Print Quota. The departments
should provide handouts and exams for classes.
Additional printer pages can be purchased from the School of Engineering Help Desk at a cost of $0.05 per page.
