International Programs

The SMU School of Engineering has partnered with several international universities to offer programs that enable international students to enhance their education by taking several undergraduate courses or earning graduate degrees from SMU.

Current international partnerships include the following:

Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico)

The SMU School of Engineering offers two programs for students from Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico:

City of Knowledge (Panama)

The SMU School of Engineering and the City of Knowledge have initiated an executive master’s degree program that enables participants to acquire a master’s degree from SMU with the convenience of a Central American location. Three degree programs are currently available:

  • Executive master's degree in telecommunications.
  • Executive master's degree in information engineering and management.
  • Executive master's degree in software engineering.

Universidad Francisco Marroquin (Guatemala)

The SMU School of Engineering has signed an agreement with the School of Business and Economics at Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala City that will enable business students from Guatemala to spend a semester taking engineering courses in Dallas.

International Distance Education

The SMU School of Engineering is excited to offer a new program - International Distance education. Students residing outside the United States may now earn a graduate degree without having to leave their home country. Live classes are recorded and streamed on-line.
