SMU Electrical Engineering Student Richard Moore Named World Wildlife Fund Leader

Richard Moore, a junior electrical engineering student at SMU, was recently named a World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Leader for his academic accomplishments, leadership, and demonstrated commitment to the environment. Moore will receive a scholarship, the opportunity to participate in a four-day environmental summit in Washington D.C., and an all-expense paid Earthwatch Institute research expedition to South Africa.

As President of SMU’s International Relations Club, Moore has led two delegations to Model United Nation conferences. He is an accomplished nature photographer and has interned with Valley Nature Film Productions. His photos have appeared in three major South Texas newspapers. Upon completion of his BS degree in Electrical Engineering, he plans to complete an accelerated MBA then launch a career running entrepreneurial ventures in renewable energy.
