Teaching Philosophy

The knowledge and understanding of IT in the world today is a critical life skill for students despite their chosen field.
It is exciting to meet the challenge of imparting technical information, as well as the implications of technology, to nontechnical students.
Today's technologists are faced with many issues that must be placed within a philosophical framework, and should be able to critically reflect on the moral issues in computing. At SMU we emphasize both the social importance and the intellectual challenge of engineering, with emphasis on decision-making in a corporate setting.
